The Golden Rule

"Leave it better than you found it."

This applies to crags, trails, parking areas, and this community. If everyone follows this, we're golden.

Be Helpful

  • Share accurate, useful information
  • Include the details you'd want to know: parking, approach, conditions
  • Update info when things change
  • Answer questions if you know the answer
  • Welcome newcomers to the community

Be Honest

  • Only review crags you've actually visited
  • Give fair assessments, not vendettas
  • Admit if your info might be outdated
  • Don't exaggerate grades (we know you didn't flash that 5.14)
  • If you're not sure about something, say so

Respect Access

  • Follow local rules and regulations
  • Don't post about closed or banned areas
  • Respect private property
  • If a landowner says no, that means no
  • Support local access organizations
  • Pack out your trash (and other people's if you can)

Don't Be That Guy

  • No spam, self-promotion, or advertising
  • No fake reviews or vote manipulation
  • No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks
  • No doxxing or sharing private info
  • No chipping holds or damaging rock
  • No bragging about illegal activity

About Sensitive Crags

Some crags have complicated access situations. Maybe the landowner is on the fence. Maybe it's technically illegal but tolerated. Maybe there are seasonal closures for wildlife.

Use good judgment when posting about these spots:

Blowing up a spot with limited parking or sensitive access can get it closed for everyone. Don't be the reason we lose a crag.

What Makes a Good Submission

When you submit a crag or write a review, help your fellow dirtbags out with the stuff that actually matters:

Helpful Info

  • Parking: Where exactly? Is it sketchy? Will you get towed?
  • Approach: How long? How steep? Any tricky navigation?
  • Crowds: Packed every weekend or empty paradise?
  • Best season: When does it actually climb well?
  • Fees/permits: Do you need to pay? Where?
  • Hazards: Loose rock? Sketchy anchors? Poison oak?
  • Amenities: Water? Bathrooms? Cell service?
  • Nearby food: Essential information, obviously

Enforcement

We're not trying to be cops here. But if you consistently break these guidelines:

Spam bots and obvious trolls get nuked immediately. No warning needed.

If you see something that violates these guidelines, flag it. We'll take a look.

Questions?

These guidelines are pretty straightforward, but if something's unclear, reach out. We're reasonable people.

Now go climb something.
